Kalil played all 16 games as a starter his first four seasons, but was limited to two games in 2016 because of a hip injury.

The Panthers had identified Kalil as a top priority weeks ago, according to the ESPN report. The Panthers' No. 1 left tackle in 2016, Michael Oher, missed the final 13 games with a concussion. Oher is under contract, but has not yet cleared the concussion protocol.

The move unites Kalil with his brother, Pro Bowl center Ryan Kalil.
