Feb. 7 (UPI) -- While New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick was ironically taking a day off to start a "no days off" chant, his players tossed shade on commissioner Roger Goodell.

Danny Amendola sported a white "Fire Goodell" hat while riding in the Patriots' victory parade Tuesday in Boston. He didn't show up in the hat, but put it on when it was given to him by a fan. Amendola had eight catches for 78 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots' victory against the Atlanta Falcons.

All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski went up to the microphone at one point and asked fans what they thought about Goodell. He then booed the commissioner.

Goodell infamously suspended quarterback Tom Brady for the first four games of the season due to his role in DeflateGate. Brady has also thrown jabs at the commissioner, once in a post-Super Bowl commercial when he used the pun "Roger that." Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia wore a Goodell clown shirt Monday when the team arrived in Boston.
On Tuesday, Patriots fans were emphatic in their cheers calling for the commissioner's job. Goodell, 57, took over as the NFL's commissioner in 2006. During the 2014-2015 season, he made $34.1 million. Goodell made $21.7 million in 2015. His salary boomed at $44.2 million in 2012, according to multiple reports. The NFL announced it would give up its tax-exempt status in 2015, meaning it no longer has to disclose Goodell's salary.
