Minnesota Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater will likely miss the entire 2017 season due to his horrific leg injury suffered five months ago, according to Bleacher Report.

The website reported that doctors have told the Vikings that Bridgewater's knee injury will require 19 months to heal. That timetable would prevent Bridgewater from returning in 2017.

Bridgewater dislocated his left knee and tore the ACL during a late August practice.

Earlier this month, Vikings coach Mike Zimmer told reporters that there was no timetable per Bridgewater's return.

"We don't know when Teddy will be back," Zimmer said.

Bridgewater was a Pro Bowler in 2015 when he passed for 3,231 yards and 14 touchdowns against nine interceptions.

After his injury, Minnesota acquired Sam Bradford from the Philadelphia Eagles. Bradford established a single-season record for completion percentage (71.6) while passing for 3,877 yards and 20 touchdowns against just five interceptions.

Zimmer said recently that Bradford "has earned the right to be the starting quarterback" for 2017.
