LOS ANGELES, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- New city. New stadium. New logo. New coach.

The Los Angeles Chargers will look quite different in 2017. The latest change: the team is hiring Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator as its next head coach, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.

Lynn, 48, was hired as the Bills' running backs coach in 2015. He interviewed to become the San Francisco 49ers' offensive coordinator before being promoted by the Bills to that same position to start the 2016 season. Despite multiple sources claiming that Lynn would likely be promoted to the Bills' head coaching job next season, the team decided to hire Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Sean McDermott.

"This is where I want to be, is right here with the Buffalo Bills," Lynn said in his final postgame press conference as the team's interim coach. "So, this would be my No. 1."

Lynn had scheduled interviews with the Denver Broncos, 49ers, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Los Angeles Rams before taking the Chargers job. He began his NFL coaching career in 2000 as a special teams assistant for the Broncos. He went on to coach for the Jaguars, Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Browns, and New York Jets, before joining the Bills.
