LANDOVER, Md., Dec. 27 (UPI) -- Oft-injured tight end Jordan Reed will be active Sunday for the Washington Redskins.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reported that Reed will play against the New York Giants, despite dealing with a separated shoulder. Reed, 26, suffered the injury on Thanksgiving. He sat out Week 13, but played in Week 14 and Week 15.

Reed also sat out last week because of the Grade 3 AC joint separation. He signed a six-year, $48 million contract in May.

The Redskins host the Giants at 4:25 p.m. Sunday at FedEx Field. Reed has 61 receptions for 646 yards and five touchdowns this season. In 2015, he had 87 receptions for 952 yards and 11 touchdowns. Reed has never played more than 14 games in a season during his four-year NFL career.
