The Arizona Cardinals made a move in their secondary on Monday, promoting cornerback Harlan Miller from the practice squad and releasing cornerback Tharold Simon.

The 6-foot, 182-pound Miller has spent the entire season on the Cardinals' practice squad after originally joining the team as a sixth-round selection in the 2016 NFL Draft out of Southeastern Louisiana.

Miller, a three-time first-team All-Southland Conference selection, appeared in 47 career games (36 starts), making 122 tackles, 11 interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), 34 passes defensed and nine tackles for a loss while also returning 26 punts for 294 yards and blocking two kicks.

Simon was claimed off waivers by the Cardinals in early September after he was released by the Seattle Seahawks.

Simon played in nine games for the Cardinals but was inactive for last two games. He totaled six tackles and also worked on special teams.
