FOXBOROUGH, Mass., Dec. 1 (UPI) -- Devastating news rocked the fantasy football world Thursday for some unlucky owners.

New England Patriots All-World tight end Rob Gronkowski will have back surgery Friday, according to Pro Football Talk. Gronkowski has a herniated disc in his back.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that there is "no time frame on possible return." Schefter later reported that he is expected to miss two months, confirming a Buffalo News report.

Gronkowski had 540 yards and three touchdowns in eight games before the injury. If you don't have a shot at Martellus Bennett, now is the time to scour the waiver wire for a 'replacement' for the irreplaceable pass-catcher.
