Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck returned to practice Thursday on a limited basis, one day after sitting out with soreness in his right shoulder.

Luck insisted Wednesday that he will play for the Colts (0-2) in a home game against the San Diego Chargers (1-1) on Sunday (4:25 p.m. ET). Indianapolis offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski echoed Luck's refrain with similar comments on Thursday.

"You'd love for your guys to be out there for the full week, and that really goes for any position, but that's the way it is and you have to be able to adjust to that," Chudzinski told reporters. "He's good mentally and getting reps that way. He'll be ready for the game. I have no doubt."

Luck developed the sore passing shoulder while being sacked five times by the Denver Broncos in last Sunday's loss. The defeat left the Colts winless after two games for the third straight season.

Luck missed nine contests last season due to multiple injuries. Still, he received a $140 million contract extension in the offseason.
