LANDOVER, Md., Aug. 17 (UPI) -- NFL experts are quick to point out the flaws in his game, but Robert Griffin III still says he is the "best quarterback in the NFL."

"I don't feel like I have to come out here and show anybody anything or why I'm better than this guy or better than that guy," Griffin told WJLA in an interview. "It's more about going out and affirming that for me, I go out and I play, I know I'm the best quarterback on this team."

"I feel like I'm the best quarterback in the league and I have to go out and show that."

Griffin may not even be the best quarterback taken in the 2012 NFL draft, which included Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck.

The 25-year-old is 679 of 1063, for 8,097 passing yards, 40 touchdowns and 23 inteceptions in his three-year Washington Redskins career. Griffin also has 1,480 rushing yards and eight scores in his career.

"Any athlete at any level, if they concede to someone else, they're not a top competitor, they're not trying to be the best that they can be," Griffin said. "There's guys in this league that have done way more than me. But, I still view myself as the best because that's what I work toward every single day."

During the 2012 season, Griffin was ranked as Pro Football Focus' No. 9 quarterback in the NFL.
