Feb. 9 (UPI) -- The Miami Heat waived him Monday and he'll likely be in a Cleveland Cavaliers uniform Thursday.
Forward Derrick Williams signed a 10-day contract with the Cavaliers Thursday, according to general manager David Griffin.
Williams, 25, averaged 5.9 points and 2.9 rebounds in 25 games for the Heat this season. He has averaged 9.1 points and 4.1 rebounds in 401 career games for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Sacramento Kings, New York Knicks, and Heat.
ESPN's Dave McMenamin reported that Williams will "probably" play for the Cavaliers in its 8 p.m. matchup Thursday against the Oklahoma City Thunder at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

The University of Arizona product was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. He was traded from the Timberwolves to the Kings in 2013, before joining the Knicks in 2015.
The Heat moved on from Williams in order to clear a roster spot for Okaro White. White signed a two-year deal Monday with the Heat.
