2017 NBA All-Star Game: Vote leaders are in for each conference, position

LeBron James and Kyrie Irving of the defending NBA champion Cleveland Cavaliers are the leading vote-getters for the 2017 All-Star Game in the first tabulations released for the contest in New Orleans.

Golden State Warriors stars Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry are receiving the most votes among Western Conference players.

James, a 12-time All-Star, received 595,288 votes in the first week of balloting and leads Eastern Conference frontcourt players. Irving received 543,030 votes, the most among Eastern Conference backcourt players.

Durant, who is in his first season with the Warriors, received 541,209 votes to lead Western Conference frontcourt players. Curry leads backcourt players in the West with 523,597 votes.

Curry, the reigning two-time NBA MVP, is just slightly ahead of this season's top two MVP candidates -- Houston's James Harden (519,446) and Oklahoma City's Russell Westbrook (501,652).

Golden State fans apparently know where to submit their votes as veteran Zaza Pachulia (439,675) is second amongst Western Conference frontcourt players. San Antonio forward Kawhi Leonard, the runner-up for MVP last season, is third (341,240) and New Orleans star Anthony Davis (318,144) is fourth.

In the East frontcourt, rising Milwaukee star Giannis Antetokounmpo is second behind James with 500,663 votes. Cleveland's Kevin Love (250,347) is a distant third.

In the East backcourt, Chicago's Dwyane Wade (278,052) is second and Toronto's DeMar DeRozan (253,340) is third.
