Indians smack four homers in win over Orioles

June 18 (UPI) -- The Cleveland Indians pounced all over the Baltimore Orioles pitching staff in their latest victory, with four players homering to cap off a four-game sweep in Cleveland.

Jose Ramirez, Bobby Bradley, Eddie Rosario and Yu Chang each went deep in the 10-3 win Thursday at Progressive Field. Chang drove in four runs in the victory.

"I feel so good about this," Chang told reporters. "This is the real Indians. The team effort, that's what we're looking for."

The Indians, winners in six of their last seven games, sit in second place in the American League Central. The Chicago White Sox (43-26) lead the division and own the best record in the American League.

Indians center fielder Bradley Zimmer lined out to lead off the bottom of the first inning. Shorstop Amed Rosario followed with a single to center field.

Ramirez walked up to the plate as the third batter of the half inning. The Indians designated hitter took three-consecutive balls to start the at-bat.

Orioles starter Jorge Lopez tossed in a 96.4-mph sinker for his final offering of the exchange. Ramirez ripped the middle-of-the-plate pitch to right field for a 404-foot, two-run homer. The blast left his bat at 106.4 mph, according to Statcast.

Eddie Rosario popped out in the next at-bat, which prompted Bradley to step into the batter's box with two outs. The Indians first baseman worked ahead 3-1 in the count. He hit Lopez's fifth offering into the left field seats for a 402-foot solo shot.

Orioles outfielder Austin Hays responded with a 421-foot solo homer to lead off the top of the next inning. Eddie Rosario smacked his fifth home run of the season for teh Indians in the bottom of the third inning. That blast also came off Lopez.

The Orioles starter got ahead 0-2 in the count against Rosario. He tossed in a 95-mph fastball for his third offering to the Indians left fielder.

Rosario pounced on the pitch and sent into to right field for a 423-foot solo homer to give the Indians a 4-1 lead.

Orioles infielder Maikel Franco got a run back with another solo home run in the top of the fourth inning. Trey Mancini followed with an RBI single four at-bats later to make the score 4-3, but the Orioles didn't score again.

Chang plated Ryan Lavarnway and Josh Naylor with an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning. He returned to the plate for his second home run of the season in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Naylor led off the half inning with a single to right field. Chang hit the next pitch from Orioles reliever Mac Sceroler to left field for a 392-foot, two-run homer. Ernie Clement and Zimmer each reached base in the next two at-bats. Clement later came in for the final run of the game on a Ramirez single.

Lopez allowed seven hits and five runs in 4 1/3 innings to drop to 2-8 this season. Indians starter Eli Morgan allowed five hits and three runs in 3 2/3 innings, but was not on the record for a decision.

Amed Rosario, Lavarnway, Naylor and Chang recorded two hits apiece in the win. Mancini and Orioles designated hitter Ryan Mountcastle collected two hits apiece in the loss.

The Indians (38-28) face the Pittsburgh Pirates at 7:05 p.m. EDT Friday at PNC Park in Pittsburgh. The Orioles (22-46) host the Toronto Blue Jays at 7:05 p.m. EDT Friday at Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore.
