Braves' Ozzie Albies predicts walk-off homer

June 26 (UPI) -- Atlanta Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies predicted his walk-off home run in a 5-4 win against the Cincinnati Reds.

The solo shot came in the bottom of the 11th inning Monday at SunTrust Park in Atlanta. Albies, 21, walked up to the plate to face Reds reliever Dylan Floro in the frame. He was the first Braves batter of the inning.

Floro threw in an 85.2-mph changeup with his first offering. Albies smacked the pitch to right center field for a 375 foot home run. The ball had an exit velocity of 96.2 mph, according to Statcast.

After the game, Albies revealed that he predicted his first career walk-off home run. He said he turned to Braves teammate Danny Santana, saying: "It's time to go long now."

"So I went with one mentality of hitting a home run on that [at-bat]," Albies told reporters.

The Braves infielder went 3-for-6, with two RBIs, two runs scored and a strikeout in the win. He also hit two doubles.

Albies leads the league with 359 plate appearances and 335 at-bats. He is hitting .269 on the season with 17 home runs and 46 RBIs. He also tops the National League with 60 runs scores, 25 doubles and 170 total bases.
