MIAMI, Dec. 16 (UPI) -- A.J. Ramos should face some weathered batters this seasons for the Miami Marlins.

On Friday, the closer got some more protection when the Marlins added right-handed reliever Brad Ziegler to its bullpen. Ziegler signed a two-year, $16 million deal, according to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal. The Marlins now have Junichi Tazawa and Kyle Barraclough in its setup stable. Tazawa also came over to Miami from the Boston Red Sox Friday on a two-year, $12 million pact.

Ziegler, 37, had a 2.25 ERA, 58 strikeouts, and 22 saves in 69 games last season for the Red Sox. The Marlins' 3.63 bullpen ERA last season ranked No. 14 in baseball. That bullpen also dished out the second-most walks in MLB.
