BOSTON, July 22 (UPI) -- Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz has a historically strong swing.

So it could have been more of a surprise that his batting practice home run Thursday merely got stuck in the Fenway Park foul pole instead of ripping it from the ground.

Nonetheless, Ortiz's mammoth shot was embedded into the metal grid of Pesky's Pole, wedged between the yellow bars.

The Red Sox beat the Minnesota Twins 13-2 Thursday, keeping up its three-game winning-streak. Ortiz was 3-for-5, with one home run and four RBI. The home run was Ortiz's 24th of the season.
