KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Due to a plentiful list of offensive injuries, the Kansas City Chiefs' personnel moves continued into Sunday before their game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Arrowhead Stadium.

Quarterback Alex Smith (head) and running back Spencer Ware (concussion) headline the Chiefs' inactives list. With the franchise's all-time leading rusher Jamaal Charles sidelined after knee surgery last Wednesday, Kansas City brought back fellow running back Knile Davis on Saturday.

The Chiefs are the third team for Davis in the last six days, as he traveled from the Green Bay Packers to the New York Jets and the return to Kansas City.

In four games for the Chiefs earlier in the 2016 season, Davis appeared in 26 plays, most of those on special teams. The 2013 third-round draft choice had only three touches for 12 yards. Kansas City traded Davis on Oct. 17, sending him to Green Bay for a conditional 2018 seventh-round draft choice. He appeared in two games for the Packers, producing nine yards while playing 13 offensive snaps. He was released Tuesday and claimed the next day by New York. His stay with the Jets was short-lived; he was released on Thursday.

Nick Foles will start at quarterback for the Chiefs, and Charcandrick West will open at running back. Recently signed running back Bishop Sankey is inactive, so Davis will be the backup to West.

Other personnel moves made Saturday by the Chiefs were the promotion of defensive lineman David King to the active roster. They sent starting left guard Parker Ehinger to injured reserve due to a knee injury suffered last Sunday and also waived offensive lineman Jordan Devey.

Joining Smith, Ware and Sankey on the inactive list for the Chiefs are cornerbacks D.J. White and Terrance Mitchell, offensive lineman Mike Person and tight end Ross Travis.

The inactive-player list for the Jaguars was topped by starting defensive end Jared Odrick, who is out with foot and ankle problems. Also out of uniform will be quarterback Brandon Allen, tight end Neal Sterling, wide receiver Rashad Greene, running back Cory Grant, offensive tackle Bryce Harris and defensive tackle Richard Ash.
