The Chicago Bears signed running back Raheem Mostert to the active roster and linebacker Ronald Powell to the practice squad.

Mostert appeared in 11 games last season, combining to return 19 kickoffs for 530 yards while splitting time between the Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Ravens and Miami Dolphins. He was originally signed by the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted rookie out of Purdue last year.

Jeremy Langford is the Bears' primary back, but rookie Jordan Howard was pressed into significant duty when Ka'Deem Carey left Monday night's loss to Philadelphia with a hamstring injury.

Powell is a third-year veteran who appeared in 14 games with the New Orleans Saints from 2014-15. He was originally a fifth-round pick by the Saints in the 2014 NFL Draft, and spent time on Tampa Bay's practice squad last year.
