New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is not allowed near his teammates during his four-game suspension, so he returned to his alma mater to stretch out his right arm.
Brady, who is serving a punishment for his involvement in the Deflategate scandal, was back at Michigan on Saturday as an honorary captain for the Wolverines' matchup against Colorado, ESPN reported.
The three-time Super Bowl MVP is not permitted any contact with New England coaches and teammates, per NFL rules, but he found a willing partner with whom to toss a football around in Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh.
About 90 minutes prior to kickoff, Brady and Harbaugh -- both former quarterbacks for the fourth-ranked Wolverines -- exchanged passes from a distance of 25 to 30 yards.
Brady, a sixth-round draft choice and the 199th overall pick in 2000, was making his first trip back to see Michigan play in a home game since leaving the school.
The future Hall of Famer gave the Wolverines a pregame speech on Friday night and joined Michigan's captains prior to kickoff for the coin toss -- which was won by Colorado.
Brady is eligible to return to the Patriots for their game against the Cleveland Browns in Week 5.
