The New Orleans Saints re-signed six-time Pro Bowl guard Jahri Evans, according to multiple reports Wednesday.

Evans missed just seven starts over 10 seasons with the Saints before the veteran was cut in February. He started all 153 games he played for the Saints.

Coach Sean Payton hinted the Saints are bringing back the 33-year-old Evans, who reportedly would sign a one-year deal.

"I think it is a realistic possibility," Payton said Wednesday morning. "We're making sure we're looking at each available option for us. It's pretty normal when you get to your final roster cuts that you're still shuffling here first couple of weeks, maybe, not because of injury."

To make room, the Saints are releasing second-year quarterback Garrett Grayson, according to ESPN. He completed 55.7 percent of his passes in the preseason for 409 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions.

The Saints brought in Evans for a visit Tuesday after he was released by the Seattle Seahawks. Evans signed with the Seahawks in early August.

"His preseason in Seattle was, we thought, pretty good. He's in good shape, he's big, he knows our system," Payton said. "Those would be some of the traits that draw us to a move like that or the potential of bringing him in."
