The New Orleans Saints released veteran cornerback Cortland Finnegan and kicker Kai Forbath on Tuesday, according to multiple reports.

Pro Football Talk also reported that rookie kicker Wil Lutz was signed to New Orleans' 53-man roster. Lutz had been signed by Baltimore and released at the end of last month.

Signed by the Saints last month, Finnegan's salary for the entire season would have been guaranteed had the 32-year-old been on the team for the first week of the regular season. Finnegan played in five regular-season games and three playoff contests with Carolina in 2015.

Finnegan's departure leaves New Orleans with only second-year players Delvin Breaux and P.J. Williams as well as undrafted rookies De'Vante Harris and Ken Crawley as cornerbacks on the active roster.
