Tajh Boyd was arrested after authorities said the former Clemson quarterback pushed a bouncer who denied him entry into a crowded bar in Greenville, S.C.

Boyd turned himself in Tuesday to face an assault and battery charge, the Greenville Police said in a news release.

The 25-year-old Boyd was attempting to gain entry into On the Roxx bar on July 14 at approximately 11:30 p.m. when a doorman told him that he would have to wait because the club was at capacity, according to the police report.

An argument ensued and Boyd allegedly "shoved (the bouncer) with two hands in his chest causing him to fly through the doorway, knocking another female and himself to the ground," according to the police report.

The Tigers' starting quarterback from 2011-13, Boyd was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year in 2012.

He was selected by the New York Jets in the sixth round of the 2014 draft before his career took him to the Canadian Football League. He had short stints with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Montreal Alouettes before being released by the latter in June.
