The New England Patriots acquired cornerback Eric Rowe from the Philadelphia Eagles on Tuesday in exchange for offensive lineman Josh Kline and a conditional 2018 fourth-round draft choice.

Rowe was a second-round pick by the Eagles in 2015 and started five games as a rookie and had 31 tackles and one interception. But he reportedly wasn't listed among Philadelphia's top four cornerbacks on the depth chart at the end of the preseason.

Kline started 13 games at guard for the Patriots last season. Overall, he started 18 contests during three seasons with the team.

However, Kline could again be on the move. ESPN reported the Eagles are in "deep discussions" to trade him to another team.

The draft pick the Eagles will receive could be upgraded to a third rounder depending on Rowe's performance.
