The Denver Broncos and Super Bowl 50 MVP Von Miller continue to work to end their contract stalemate as the July 15 deadline approaches for franchise players.

According to Mike Klis of KUSA-TV in Denver, the Broncos made a pair of offers, sandwiched around a proposal to the team from Miller's agent, Joby Branion.

The Broncos and Miller had agreed last month on a six-year, $114.5 million framework that would make the star outside linebacker the highest paid defensive player by average at $19.083 million per year.

The Broncos modified their offer to Miller and would fully guarantee the third year of their proposed contract in March 2017.

Miller's agent then submitted a new proposal on Friday, with the Broncos later making a new offer that again enriched the guaranteed portion, according to KUSA.

Guaranteed money has been the sticking point between the two sides on the proposed contract. The contract would have made the 27-year-old Miller the NFL's highest-paid defensive player, edging Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Justin Houston, Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh and Houston Texans Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt, among others.

Miller is haggling to get more guarantees in his deal, and most of the approximately $39.8 million Denver did guarantee in its most recent offer was spread over two years.

Broncos general manager John Elway had personally called Miller over the Fourth of July weekend to express his desire to work out a long-term deal, after almost a month without dialogue between the sides, according to ESPN.

Miller received the exclusive franchise tag on March 1 after recording 11 sacks and four forced fumbles last season. The four-time Pro Bowl selection added 2 1/2 sacks and two forced fumbles to help the Broncos defeat the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50.
