Draymond Green to watch Game 5 from Oakland Athletics stadium

Draymond Green will be the guy next door for the Golden State Warriors on Monday night.

Green, suspended for Game 5 of the NBA Finals, will set up shop across the parking lot at the Oakland Athletics' baseball stadium, O.co Coliseum, while the Warriors host the Cleveland Cavaliers at Oracle Arena.

NBA rules prevent suspended players from being in the stadium where the game will be played. If Green attends, he will be fined $2,000.

Green plans to watch the Finals game from a suite in the adjacent stadium, which also houses the Oakland Raiders, but could join the team for a postgame celebration if the Warriors finish off the Cavaliers for the second consecutive year and repeat as NBA champions.

With three minutes left in Game 4 at Cleveland, Green was assessed a Flagrant 1 foul on LeBron James. It was Green's fourth flagrant foul this postseason.

James stepped over Green, who had fallen to the court, and Green swung his arm and appeared to make contact with James' groin area. James immediately turned around, and the two players went chest-to-chest as play continued. Green was reviewed for a possible suspension during the Western Conference finals but the NBA ruled his kick to Steven Adams' groin was unintentional. He was fined $25,000.

After Friday's play, the NBA review came back with the ruling that Green's action was a "retaliatory swipe of his hand to the groin" of James.

"While Draymond Green's actions in Game 4 do not merit a suspension as a standalone act, the number of flagrant points he has earned triggers a suspension for Game 5," NBA executive vice president of basketball operations Kiki Vandeweghe said.

James said he was "trying to get back in the play."

"I think what had happened was intentional," James said. "I knew we got into a grapple at the top of the key, but me just trying to get back into the play."

If the Cavaliers win Game 5 on Monday, the series would return to Cleveland on Thursday for Game 6 and Green would be available to play in that game and a potential Game 7 in Oakland.
