Copa America 2016: Ecuador moves on to meet USA, Peru beats Brazil

Ecuador advanced to the Copa America quarterfinals -- where it will meet the United States -- by cruising to a 4-0 win over Haiti in Group B action Sunday at East Rutherford, N.J.

Team USA, the Group A winner, will face Group B runner-up Ecuador in Seattle on Thursday.

Enner Valencia scored Ecuador's opening goal in the 11th minute, then added two assists. Jaime Ayovi (20th minute), Christian Noboa (57th minute) and Antonio Valencia (78th minute) also had goals for Ecuador, which went 1-0-2 in group play.

Haiti finished 0-3-0 in the group.

The U.S. team beat Ecuador 1-0 in a pre-Copa America friendly on May 25 in Frisco, Texas. Darlington Nagbe scored the game's only goal in the 90th minute. Antonio Valencia, a Manchester United star, did not play for Ecuador.

Peru 1, Brazil 0

Raul Ruidiaz's knocked the ball into the net with his right hand in the 75th minute, and Peru eliminated Brazil thanks to the controversial goal in Foxborough, Mass.

Peru (2-0-1) won Group B, and it advances to meet Group A runner-up Columbia in a quarterfinal match Friday in East Rutherford.

Brazil (1-1-1) needed only a tie against Peru to qualify for the next round.
