SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 10 (UPI) -- Luis Suárez has moved from biting to punching.

The scintillating scorer was not too happy about not being subbed into Uruguay's 1-0 loss to Venezuela Thursday.

He let the bench know about it.

After Los Charrúas La Celeste made a third substitution in the match, and it wasn't Suárez, the forward stood up and punched the siding of the bench in frustration. Suárez had already warmed up, but after not hearing his name for the final replacement, he yelled to coach Oscar Tabarez to come in, but could only sit dejected for the remainder of the crippling loss.

Suárez also missed Uruguay's 3-1 loss to Mexico because of a hamstring injury. The Barcelona difference-maker basically had no hand in his team's exit, as it was unable to acquire a point in Group C.

Suárez was named as injured on the team sheet, despite showing up in full playing gear.

"There is no situation," Tabarez said of Suárez's condition to play, via beIN Sports. "The situation is what I told you [on Wednesday]. The player is not ready to play."

"This is an issue about numbers and doctors. Even if the player is upset, I'm not going to play a player who is not 100 percent."

"If he got upset, that is something I was not aware of. He didn't tell me anything." Tabarez told beIN Sports. "Eighteen days ago he had a substantial tear. We want Suarez when he is healthy."

Uruguay faces Jamaica at 10 p.m. Monday, June 13 at Levi's Stadium.
