McAfee said that he had surgery on his left knee to "clean things up."

"The first couple of weeks of rehab were a little tough, but I'm on the back end of it right now," he added. "I'm about 85-90 percent right now. By the time training camp comes around I'll be a hundred percent and I can't wait for that day."

--Colts offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski says things are going well with the installation of his own offensive system during OTAs and mini-camp.

"The guys get three or four shots at each install and get good exposure to a lot of different things," Chudzinski said. "We've been pretty aggressive on those installs and have given them a lot and feeding them a lot."

"I've been really pleased with how the guys have handled it and their understanding and execution and those things as they've come along in the spring."

Chudzinski added that the installation of his offense has been new for both the players and for several new members of the Colts coaching staff.

"The biggest thing for me is we've got a lot of coaches, new coaches, is all getting on the same page with some of the things from my background," he said.

"It's great that we have a staff full of guys that have a lot of experience. We talk through a lot of things. This whole process isn't just for the players, it's for us as coaches seeing the guys and what they all can do, and what we can be best at as well as with the players learning themselves."

NOTES: Rookie C Ryan Kelly has his locker right next to Colts QB Andrew Lick for obvious reasons. Team officials want Kelly and Luck to develop a strong relationship. After OTAs and the first two days of mini-camp, everything is working well so far. "It's been great," Kelly said. "I think certainly taking one day at a time through OTAs and obviously off the field as well, whether it's just eating or talking about life and just kind of figuring out what makes him tick. "It's obviously been a growing relationship and we're just looking forward to getting back on the field (for training camp) and continuing that before we go to the real thing." ... The Colts have two tryout players participating in the three-day mini-camp. Former Raiders draft pick Andre Dubose and hybrid tight end/fullback Emil Igwenagu, who has experience with the Eagles and Lions, are getting long looks from the Indianapolis coaching staff. .. Dubose, a wide receiver and kick returner, was a seventh-round pick by Oakland in 2015, He was waived/injured after an Achilles injury. The Raiders waived him outright with an injury designation. He cleared waivers after reaching a settlement with Oakland. ... The Colts had their second mini-camp practice Wednesday evening at Lucas Oil Stadium. The workout was open to the public. The Colts will wrap up its three-day mini-camp with a session on Thursday morning back at the team's facility.
