Oklahoma City Thunder part-owner Aubrey McClendon's fatal car crash in March was determined to be an accident, a medical examiner's report indicated Wednesday.

McClendon, a businessman and co-founder of Chesapeake Energy Corp., died from multiple blunt force trauma to the torso and extremities in the one-car crash, according to the autopsy report.

A toxicology report showed no signs of alcohol in the blood. His liver had a trace of Doxylamine, an antihistamine found in some cold and allergy medications.

On Tuesday, Oklahoma City Police said after its two-month investigation that there was "no information that would indicate anything other than a vehicular accident."

McClendon, 56, also a founder of American Energy Partners LP, died March 2 after his SUV crashed into a concrete wall at 78 mph after slowing from 88 mph just seconds before impact.

A day earlier, McClendon had been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of conspiring to rig bids for oil and natural gas leases. The charges were later dismissed.

McClendon owned about 20 percent of the Thunder. He was part of the group with majority owner Clay Bennett that moved the NBA franchise from Seattle in 2008.
