Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz will indeed step into the Octagon for a much-anticipated rematch of their March 5 UFC 196 fight won by Diaz with a second-round submission.

The UFC announced Saturday that the rematch had been finalized for UFC 202 on Aug. 20 in Las Vegas.

The 170-pound rematch had been scheduled to headline UFC 200 on July 9, but McGregor's refusal to fly to Las Vegas from Iceland to promote the card scuttled the fight.

The UFC tried to find another opponent for Diaz, but he made it clear to Dana White that he only wanted to fight McGregor.

The 27-year-old Irishman remains the featherweight (145 pound) champion after knocking out Jose Aldo in 13 seconds in December.

McGregor told ESPN he wanted to fight at 170 pounds in the rematch. He wants to try to simulate similar circumstances from the first fight.

"What kind of fighter would I be, if I said, 'Hey, I didn't get you at 170, let me try to get you at 155,'" McGregor said. "I'll make my adjustments. I ate up to the weight. This time, I won't do that."

Diaz (20-10-0) handed McGregor (19-3-0) his first loss in eight UFC fights.
