Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco is pleased with his progress after undergoing major knee surgery in December and is aiming to be ready for training camp in late July.

Flacco underwent the operation in early December to repair both the ACL and MCL in his left knee. He said he has made "big improvements" over the past three weeks.

Flacco is participating in the Ravens' offseason workout program and is able to engage in minor running and throw short passes.

"I can do everything, pretty much," Flacco told reporters. "It's just a matter of how well I can do it and do I have a little limp here and there."

Training camp opens in a little more than three months and stands as an artificial timetable for Flacco's return.

All that I know is I want to be back for training camp and be back for the season," Flacco said. "I'm doing all I can to get to that point."

Still looming is for Flacco to advance to the point to where he can run full speed. At that point, he will be able to test the knee by making cuts.

"I don't feel like I have to protect it," Flacco said. "I'm not a big brace wearer, but I wear it just so I don't hurt myself. I want to be as cautious as possible. But, at the same time, I don't feel like I have any tentativeness when I go out there and I'm doing things, whether it's in the training room or on the field."
