An MRI Monday on Baltimore Orioles catcher Matt Wieters' sore right elbow did not show any structural damage.

Wieters had the MRI on Monday despite reporting that the swelling and soreness wasn't as bad it had been last week.

He will continue to receive treatment and perhaps might see action later this week.

"He lost some of the soreness," manager Buck Showalter told reporters. "The swelling is gone for the most part."

Wieters complained of right elbow soreness and was removed from Saturday's exhibition game against the Minnesota Twins after one inning.

Wieters had Tommy John surgery in 2014.
