Tampa Bay Buccaneers re-sign S Chris Conte

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers re-signed safety Chris Conte to a one-year contract Monday.

The 6-foot-2, 203-pound Conte started 13 of 14 games played for Tampa Bay last season, recording 78 tackles, six tackles for loss, six passes defensed, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and one special teams tackle.

Prior to joining the Bucs, the 27-year-old Conte spent four seasons with the Chicago Bears (2011-14). In his career, Conte has started 65 of 71 games played, recording 303 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 27 passes defensed, 11 interceptions, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery, with six special teams tackles.

The Buccaneers also signed unrestricted free agent cornerback Josh Robinson.

The 5-10, 200-pound Robinson, 23, joins the Bucs after spending his first four seasons with the Minnesota Vikings. A third-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, Robinson has played in 47 career regular-season games, (21 starts), recording 146 tackles, three tackles for loss, 15 passes defensed, five interceptions and one forced fumble, along with 10 special teams tackles.
