Dipping into the Chinese Basketball Association, the Houston Rockets signed guard Andrew Goudelock and are set to sign forward Michael Beasley, ESPN reported Wednesday.
Beasley, 27, was the MVP of the Chinese league season that just ended. Playing for the Shandong Golden Stars, he averaged 31.9 points, 13.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists.
The second overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Heat after starring at Kansas State, Beasley played four seasons for Miami (2008-09, 2009-10, 2013-14 and 2014-15). In between his stints with the Heat, he spent two seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves and one with the Phoenix Suns.
Beasley averaged an NBA career-high 19.2 points in 2010-11 with Minnesota.
ESPN reported that he will make the league minimum salary for the rest of this season, with the Rockets holding an option for next season.
Goudelock, 27, played 40 games for the Los Angeles Lakers in 2011-12 and one game for the Lakers the following season. In 2012-13, he was the NBA Development League MVP for Houston's Rio Grande Valley affiliate. His season with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers ended Tuesday with a loss in the Chinese league's semifinals.
Goudelock signed a contract that includes a team option for a second season.
