One day after the Indianapolis Colts decided to bring back head coach Chuck Pagano, defensive coordinator Greg Manusky was sent packing on Tuesday.

Manusky had been on Pagano's staff since 2012 after serving as defensive coordinator for the San Diego Chargers and the San Francisco 49ers.

The Colts' defense ranked 27th in the NFL with 379.1 yards per game allowed and 25th in total points per game (25.5) in 2015.

Staff changes were expected after Pagano received a contract extension on Monday despite the Colts' 8-8 record in 2015 and their failure to make the playoffs.

"We're going to roll up our shirtsleeves and go to work," Pagano said Monday. "And, again, everything we do is based on two things: What's best for this team and what gives us the best chance to win."

During the season, Pagano fired offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton and brought in Rob Chudzinski to replace him. Now, the Colts will have a new defensive coordinator next season.
