Chip Kelly, who will miss the postseason for the second time in three years, said he expects to be back as head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles were eliminated from playoff contention for the second season in a row with a 38-24 loss to the Washington Redskins on Saturday night. The Eagles (6-9) are assured of a losing record -- Kelly's first as a head coach.

Asked after the loss if he is worried about job security, Kelly answered, "No."

"I'm going to continue to work as hard as I can and show up early in the morning and stay late at night and continue to work," Kelly said Saturday night. "But I don't think anybody in my situation would tell you they are worried about -- if they are worried about getting fired, they probably should already have been fired."

Eagles owner Jeff Lurie will meet with Kelly after next Sunday's season finale against the New York Giants, ESPN's Sal Paolantonio reported Sunday. A senior Eagles official told Paolantonio that the Eagles' recent skid "has been painful to watch."

Kelly won the NFC East title in 2013, his first season after leaving Oregon for Philadelphia. The Eagles finished 10-6 and missed the playoffs last year.

"I think we're good enough," Kelly said. "We just have to put them in better position to make plays. It's 100 percent on my shoulders. It's unacceptable.

"I wish I had the answer to that and we would stop it. But you know, obviously we're not doing a good enough job coaching them."

Sam Bradford, who was going into the final year of his contract when the Eagles acquired him in a March trade with the St. Louis Rams, said he would like to return as the quarterback.

Bradford, 28, has been noncommittal all season when asked about his future.

"I'd like to be back here," Bradford said after Saturday's loss. "But that's not my choice. If it does present itself and I have the opportunity, this is where I want to be. I've enjoyed my time here. I've enjoyed being in Philadelphia.

"Throughout my career, I've learned that learning new offenses every year, it's just hard to continue to improve. You're always learning new verbiage, learning new plays, learning new systems. I would really like to stay in the same one, have the opportunity to play the second year."
