Ronda Rousey makes good on promise, attends Marine Corps Ball

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md., Dec. 14 (UPI) -- UFC superstar Ronda Rousey swapped her couch for an evening gown Friday.

The former UFC bantamweight champion was asked to go to Friday's Marine Corps Ball by Jarrod Haschert a few months ago.

Rousey spoke to TMZ Saturday at LAX, the morning after the ball.

"He was a real gentleman," Rousey told TMZ. "A real sweetheart. It was the only smiling I have been doing. I told him I would be personally offended if he ever came in town and didn't hit me up."

Rousey said she did not dance because she doesn't "dance in public."

"Just in my living room in the morning."

On Saturday, Rousey posted a photo to Instagram with the caption: "Thank you Lance Cpl. Jarrod Haschert for taking me to the Marine Corps Ball, being such a gentleman, and putting a smile on my face again."

Rousey, 28, is currently dating fellow UFC fighter Travis Browne.

UFC 200, a rematch between Rousey and Holly Holm, is set for July 9 in Las Vegas.
