A grand jury investigation in New York involving rape allegations against Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane was postponed Tuesday, according to a report.

The Buffalo News reported that the delay apparently is related to a possible settlement between the alleged victim and Kane's attorneys.

Kane is accused of sexually assaulting a young woman in his Buffalo-area home in August after they met at a bar and returned there. Hamburg police and the Erie County District Attorney are involved in the investigation.

According to the News, the first witness in the case was scheduled to appear before the grand jury at 2 p.m. ET Tuesday.

No charges have been filed against Kane.
