Williams sisters pull out of Wimbledon doubles

Five-time champions Serena and Venus Williams decided to pull out of this year's Wimbledon doubles tournament. No reason was given for the withdrawal of the No. 12 seeds.

The sisters, who prevailed at the All England Club in 2000, 2002, 2008, 2009 and 2012, were forced to retire mid-match last year when Serena was suffering with a viral illness.

The world No. 1 Serena is seeking a sixth Wimbledon singles title and could meet Venus, who also owns five championships here, in the fourth round.
