Thompson, Harden to start in All-Star game

Golden State guard Klay Thompson and Houston guard James Harden were selected to start for the Western Conference in Sunday's All-Star game.

The two players will replace the injured Kobe Bryant and Blake Griffin.

Thompson will join fellow Golden State guard Stephen Curry in the starting five after averaging 22.2 points and shooting 44.1 percent from 3-point range in 49 games this season.

Harden has averaged a league-leading 27.7 points with 5.7 rebounds and 6.8 assists over 52 games.

Pelicans forward Anthony Davis announced in a press release on Wednesday that he will not play due to a sprained right shoulder.
