Johansen got a wrist shot through Anton Khudobin from the slot just 46 seconds after Jiri Tlusty went off for covering the puck with his hand in the Carolina zone.

Matt Calvert and Artem Anisimov also scored for the Blue Jackets, who rallied from one-goal deficits twice and won for the second time in five games. Curtis McElhinney made 25 saves in his second straight start while Sergei Bobrovsky gets over the flu.

Columbus entered Saturday locked in a four-way tie with Detroit, Washington and Toronto for the Eastern Conference's two wild-card spots and kept its place. Washington lost and Detroit beat Toronto.

Jeff Skinner and Andrei Loktionov scored for the Hurricanes, who were coming off a 3-0 win over the Panthers on Thursday. The haven't posted back-to-back wins in over two weeks.
