No rally monkey needed as Angels beat Rangers

Collin Cowgill clubbed a three-run homer and Chad Tracy added a pair of doubles and three RBI, as the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim pounded the Texas Rangers, 12-1, on Wednesday in spring training action.

Surprise, Ariz. -- Collin Cowgill clubbed a three-run homer and Chad Tracy added a pair of doubles and three RBI as the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim pounded the Texas Rangers 12-1 on Wednesday in spring training action.

John McDonald also knocked in three runs and scored twice for the Halos, who went 7-for-16 with runners in scoring position. LA starter Joe Blanton struck out five over five scoreless innings of one-hit ball.

Jim Adduci drove in the lone run for the Rangers, who saw starter Alexi Ogando surrender six runs on five hits and two walks over 3 1/3 innings.
