Sang-Moon Bae takes 1-stroke lead at Northern Trust Open

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif., Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Sang-Moon Bae's 5-under-par 66 lifted him into the lead Friday as the second round of the Northern Trust Open was suspended due to darkness.

Bae, seeking his second career PGA Tour title, forged into the lead with birdies on Nos. 16 and 17 at Riviera Country Club, ending 36 holes at 9-under-par 133.

One stroke back at minus-8 were Aaron Baddeley (65) and Robert Garrigus (67).

Charlie Beljan (68) held sole possession of fourth at 7-under 135.

Overnight leader Dustin Johnson fell three shots off the pace with a second-round 1-under 70. He ended Friday knotted in fifth with Jim Furyk (68), Brian Harman (69) and William McGirt (67).

Play was suspended due to darkness for a second straight day. The second round is set to resume at 10 a.m. EST Saturday.
