SOCHI, Russia, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Maria Hoefl-Riesch of Germany won the Olympic gold medal Monday in the women's alpine combined.
Riesch was fifth after the downhill run and had the third fastest slalom time. When put together, however, those times were good enough to give her the gold medal in the event for the second straight Olympics.
