NHL: Winnipeg 3, Chicago 1

CHICAGO, Jan. 26 (UPI) -- Blake Wheeler scored twice in the third period and Al Montoya made 34 saves Sunday, sending the surging Winnipeg Jets over Chicago 3-1.

The Jets came into the final period trailing 1-0 but scored three unanswered goals to come away with a sixth victory in seven games.

Wheeler knotted the score 8:16 into the period when he converted a pass from Mark Stuart at the right side of the net for the equalizer.

Andrew Ladd put Winnipeg ahead less than 5 minutes later with a wrist shot from the high slot that beat Corey Crawford to the glove side.

Wheeler then sealed the outcome with an empty-netter.

Brandon Bollig scored and Crawford finished with 18 stops for the Blackhawks, who dropped a third straight.
