NEW YORK, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Major League Baseball is trying to compel the head of New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez's public relations firm to testify at his arbitration hearing.

Rodriguez is fighting a suspension for drug use that could keep him out of the lineup until sometime in the 2015 season. Given that he is 38, the suspension could mean the end of his major league career.

A judge in New York ordered Michael Sitrick, head of Sitrick and Company, to appear at a hearing Nov. 13 to explain why he did not comply with an MLB subpoena in September, the New York Daily News reported. Sitrick's lawyer said after Wednesday's order that his client hopes to work things out with MLB before the hearing.

MLB officials say they believe Rodriguez gave documents on the now-closed Florida company, Biogenesis, to Sitrick's company, which then passed them on to Yahoo! Sports. The documents tied other players to Biogenesis.
