TOKYO, Sept. 26 (UPI) -- Venus Williams claimed a 3-hour, three-set victory Thursday in gaining a spot in the semifinals of the Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo.
Williams, reaching her third semis in 2013 and looking for her first tournament title since 2010, got by Eugenia Bouchard 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 6-3. Williams lost her serve four times in the match while converting eight of her 18 break-point chances.
