Tsonga continues Moselle Open title defense

METZ, France, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Defending champion Jo-Wilfried Tsonga rallied for a three-set win Friday in the quarterfinals of the Moselle Open tennis tournament in France.

Tsonga, the top seed in the event, got by Tobias Kamke 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. He lost his serve just once and didn't see a break point in the third set.

He'll go against eighth-seeded Florian Mayer in Saturday's semifinals. Mayer is the only non-French player to reach the semis. He edged past Carlos Berlocq 5-7, 7-4, 7-5. He had two breaks in each the second and third sets.

Second-seeded Gilles Simon faced Nicolas Mahut in the other semifinals. Simon didn't see a break point in his 6-4, 7-6 (7-1) victory over sixth-seeded Sam Querrey. He lost 14 points over 11 games serving.

Mahut was a 6-2, 6-4 winner over Benjamin Becker in his quarterfinal. Mahut also went without having to deal with a break point and dropped 11 points in nine game serving.

Tsonga owns a 2-0 career advantage over Mayer while Simon is 2-1 versus Mahut.
