Freddy Garcia (4-6) allowed five hits -- three in the third inning when the Marlins scored their run -- over six innings in getting the win. The Atlanta bullpen finished things off with three shutout innings.

All of the Atlanta scoring came at the expense of Brian Flynn (0-1), who allowed six hits and walked six over four innings. Four of the batters who walked later scored runs.

Flynn walked three consecutive batters, including Freeman, to open the third and Evan Gattis and Chris Johnson followed with back-to-back two-run doubles for a 4-0 Atlanta lead.

Flynn walked Justin Upton with two outs in the fourth before Freeman crushed a breaking ball to right-center field for his home run.
