American Peter Uihlein leads Wales Open by three strokes

NEWPORT, Wales, Aug. 31 (UPI) -- American Peter Uihlein shot a 4-under 67 Saturday and took a 3-stroke lead at the Wales Open.

Uihlein caught fire on the back nine, with five birdies and two bogeys, and moved into first place ahead of Gregory Bourdy and Thomas Levet.

Levet shot 67 for the second consecutive day, offsetting a 75 in Thursday's opening round at Celtic Manor Resort.

Second-round leader Liam Bond fell all the way to 31st place with a 75 that padded his three-round score to 2-over 215.
