SEATTLE, July 4 (UPI) -- Obafemi Martins scored both Seattle goals Wednesday, bringing the Sounders their third win in four games with a 2-0 decision over D.C. United.

Martins scored in the 19th and 91st minutes, moving the Sounders (7-5-3) into a tie with Los Angeles for sixth place in the Western Conference.

United has suffered more losses (13) than any other team in Major League Soccer and is stuck in last place in the East.

Michael Gspurning made four saves to record the shutout.
